• There is a serious problem with the both the depth of the channel between the main lake and the back bay, and with the electrical cable that runs under it. Some information is contained in the attached Board minutes and an in depth discussion will take place at the membership meeting. Until then, be extremely careful if going through the channel and do not run your motor prop into the channel bottom.
   
  As you may have noticed, we are starting the Spring out with very low water levels in the lake; perhaps the lowest in decades. While this will probably cause us some problems this summer, it also provides us with perhaps a once in a lifetime opportunity to clean up our lakefronts. The dried muck (leaves, sticks, pin needles, etc) is easily removed with a pitchfork or other similar tool; beautiful sand and newfound depth is readily attainable. Some time and effort this summer can pay big dividends down the road when water levels return to normal; much cheaper to do it now than to have it pumped later.
   
  We are also heading into the best time of the year to treat our red oaks for oak wilt. Hank has the equipment to do it.
